While the marriage of a child is a tremendously joyous occasion for parents, for many it is also a source of great stress. The cost of raising a frum family continues to rise, and the added financial pressures that weddings bring can push overtaxed budgets far past their breaking points. With these costs weighing on the minds of parents, the elation felt at momentous occasions is often marred with financial anxiety. If given the opportunity, we would all want help our friends walk their children down the aisle with complete peace of mind. Unfortunately, the sums needed just seem too great a financial burden for any one individual to bear. The Alumni Simcha Fund initiative aims to give alumni the opportunity to help their chaverim who are struggling with these huge costs and to help alleviate some of the financial pressures associated with making a wedding.
The inspiration behind this initiative is to channel the goodwill of our tremendous alumni base and have a large number of people giving a small sum per wedding. The goal is to assemble a large enough group of donors to be able to provide substantial assistance to fellow alumni marrying off children.

COLLECTIVE EMPOWERMENT
As a tzibbur, we can collectively make a significant difference in someone’s simcha.

Yes, all donations are tax deductible.
A committee of trustworthy and discreet alumni, under the guidance of a Rebbi in the Yeshiva, has been assembled to decide eligibility.
This initiative is intended to help alumni of Yeshiva Rabbeinu Chaim Berlin who need assistance in paying for wedding expenses.
To apply for a grant, please call Rabbi Meir Leib Yanofsky at 718-377-0777 ext. 219. Please note, that all decisions will be made solely by the committee, under the guidance of the overseeing Rebbi.
The maximum amount of charges per month is three. If there are more than three weddings a month, charges may be rolled over to a following month. In total, there will not be more than thirty six charges a year.
In the event that more than $360,000 is raised annually, the committee, in consultation with the overseeing Rebbi, will either increase the amount of the grants or will allocate additional grants.
At any time you can choose to stop participating by calling the Yeshiva offices at 718-377-0777.
While we would love to help anyone who could use assistance, priority will be given to those most in need. Joining the initiative does not in any way give the donor priority to receive a grant.
